Australias Mediocre Media Diversity
Dot-Joining – Dysfunctional
Political Trough Feeders Repeating History
Last week the Australian Financial Review published an article from taxpayer funded research that identifies that over 2000 Australian citizens as ICT graduates from local universities are unemployed and unable to find full time employment. Meanwhile Australia’s 35 plus universities keep pushing their courses overseas for full fee paying students who are also authorised to work 20 – 40 hours per weak as part of the incentive package to get them here to prop up a vast network of universities and their academic bureaucracies all with a track record of not being able to create local industry and wealth, as they are too busy working for multinationals on a dollar for dollar basis building proof of concept design for them, including computer code that makes Bill Gates more billions. (So now you know why Australia can never create a Microsoft, eBay, Google, Skype and so on to name but a few.) This also explains why there is no vision in Australia, but that’s another story. For this proven consistent track record Brendan I -don’t-muck-about- Nelson MP gets bamboozled into giving them another $300 or $400 million for an ICT centre of excellence such as NICTA, and so they keep funding Microsofts research and so on. This has also established Nelson as having a track record of giving the corrupt secretive mandarins and their networks vast resources they obviously do not deserve and of course now he is our fearless the-right-stuff-leader in all things Defence, we can be sure the mandarins in that inept sink-hole saw him coming and have maximized their advantage. Don’t-muck-abouts’ public announcements in that regard sound like an open cheque book already.
As this state of affairs continues as usual, we are also told there are over 5000 foreign ICT workers employed locally at cut rates with 457 visas. Where this 457 system was dreamed up is anyones guess but we could be sure the parasite dual-career-path-mandarins and their mates are prominent. Also about a week later in the News Corp newspaper The Australian (“Keeping The Nation Informed”, they like to believe but is anyone going to challenge them?) we are fed another version of the local situation which describes how IBM and other multinationals are unable to find enough ICT staff to fulfill their large government contracts. Given IBM’s history and culture, including up to their necks with Hitler’s Nazis during that period, we might speculate that IBM among others is feeding this propaganda out to justify taking more ICT work offshore to India and so on where they have large local investments in software development, call-centres and so forth. Can IBM as a global big business be trusted? Of course not! It profits enormously from government relationships worldwide. So what’s going on? CAN ANYONE out there confirm that this is the state of ICT in Australia? ARE you an unemployed local university graduate trying to figure it out? WE can provide some answers if you’re interested, based on years of research. So why reinvent the wheel. (Contact: bsqwatch@yahoo.com)
Of course it would be too much to expect some logical explanation from Senator Vanstone as after about 1 decade in government she has never had any problem avoiding proving anything when asked. Her reasoning is probably that it isn’t broken so it doesn’t need fixing. But her preoccupation is probably on food and its rate of consumption, and what’s on the desert menu, which makes for less than efficient decision making about such issues as ICT visas, among other things.
We could join the dots together but after more than a decade or two or three, of the usual suspects and their solutions, it seems reasonable to assume that no-one is all that interested. This might also explain why there is never much ICT vision in Australia and with the iDTV failure now obvious, it is likely such an apathetic culture is likely to remain visionless forever.Of course it can all be explained but again why bother. And any explanation that conflicts with the status quo is no explanation of course. If there is anyone out there interested in taking some initiative to participate in an explanation please let us know.
Perhaps if the tyranny of the status quo is exposed for what it is then perhaps something could be done before the ICT deficit goes up another $20 billion or so. With an Aussie lawyer heading up the ACS don’t expect much specific in the area of vision. What they do understand is how to transfer wealth not create it and how to make self-serving propaganda sound like logic. To the extent Australians have allowed themselves to be ruled by Aussie lawyers and mandarins. So don’t expect any solutions form ACS. After decades of offering up the same recycled state of Aussie ICT, they are more like part of the problem. ACS probably has sufficient proprietary data to prove this.
Paralysis from analysis is where the money is and Australia excels at it. NICTA and the defense mandarins and the rest of their dissipating corrupt network are ongoing proof for anyone who wants to take a look. Enriching themselves off a foreign debt of $650 billion and growing. Some solution!
